About Electric Showers
Safe & Reliable Electric Shower Installation
Electric showers give you hot water on demand — no waiting for the boiler or hot water tank to heat up. But installing one isn’t a DIY job. It involves both electrical and plumbing work, and must be wired into its own circuit with the right protection.
We install all major electric shower brands and models — safely, quickly, and to current UK wiring regulations. Whether you’re replacing an old unit or fitting a new one, we make sure it’s done properly the first time.
From cable size to RCD protection, there’s a lot that goes into a safe install. Hiring a qualified electrician keeps you compliant, protects your home, and avoids costly mistakes down the line.

What’s Involved in Installing an Electric Shower?
Every home is different, but here’s what a typical install includes:
-
Checking fuse board and earthing
-
Installing a dedicated shower circuit (if not already in place)
-
Fitting an isolator switch
-
Mounting the unit and wiring it in
-
Full safety testing before use
Already have a power shower or mixer shower in place? We’ll disconnect it safely and handle any changes needed to suit the new setup.

FAQs
Can any electrician install an electric shower?
Only Part P qualified electricians can legally carry out shower installations in bathrooms. It’s a high-risk zone, and the work must meet building regulations.
How much does electric shower installation cost?
Standard installs range from £120–£250, depending on whether a circuit already exists. Full new installs may cost more if wiring upgrades are needed.
Do you supply the electric shower as well?
We can install a unit you’ve already bought, or help you choose a reliable brand if you’d prefer us to supply it. Either way, you get full support.
What size cable do I need for an electric shower?
That depends on the shower’s kilowatt (kW) rating. Most need 6mm or 10mm cable on a dedicated circuit. We’ll calculate this as part of the job.
Do you offer same-day or emergency installs?
If your old shower has failed, we can often offer same-day replacements, subject to availability. Just give us a call and we’ll let you know.
