About Home Rewires
Is It Time to Rewire Your Home?
If your home’s wiring is over 25–30 years old, there’s a good chance it needs upgrading. Older wiring systems can be unsafe, inefficient, and may not support the number of appliances we rely on today.
A full house rewire replaces all the wiring, sockets, switches, and consumer unit — bringing your home up to current safety standards. Whether you’re renovating, just moved in, or spotted signs of electrical issues, it’s the smartest way to future-proof your property.
We carry out safe, compliant rewires with minimal disruption. You’ll get clear advice, tidy workmanship, and a system built to last.

What’s Included in a Full Home Rewire?
A rewire isn’t just about new cables — it’s about making your whole electrical system safer and more efficient. Here’s what’s typically included:
-
New wiring throughout the home (lighting, sockets, appliances)
-
Upgraded consumer unit with RCD protection
-
Modern socket and switch layout to match your needs
-
Smoke alarm wiring and other safety features
-
Certification to prove compliance with UK regs
We’ll work with you to plan the layout, minimise mess, and get the job done on time — whether it’s an empty property or lived-in home.

FAQs
How do I know if my house needs rewiring?
Look out for:
-
Old-style fuse boxes (not modern RCD units)
-
Rubber or fabric-covered cables
-
Frequent blown fuses or tripping
-
Flickering lights or buzzing switches
-
No earth wiring in lighting circuits
If you’re unsure, we can carry out a simple test to assess your current setup.
How much does a house rewire cost in the UK?
It depends on the size and layout of your home, but most full rewires start from around £2,500–£4,500 for a standard 2–3 bedroom house. We’ll give you a fixed quote after a quick inspection.
How long does a full rewire take?
Most rewires take 5 to 10 working days, depending on property size and access. We’ll always work in phases if you’re living in the house — or fast-track if it’s empty.
Do I need to rewire before I renovate?
Yes — rewiring should always come before plastering, flooring, or decorating. It’s far easier (and cheaper) to do the wiring first.
Will the rewire come with a certificate?
Absolutely. Once complete, we provide an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) to prove it meets BS 7671 standards and Part P regulations.
